The Texas Wendish Heritage Museum in Serbin near Giddings preserves the story of the Wends—Slavic Lutherans from Lusatia who settled this part of Texas in the 1850s. Visitors can tour historic buildings and exhibits on Wendish language, faith, and daily life, including the painted St. Paul Lutheran Church context and homestead collections. Open Tuesday through Saturday afternoons, the museum and Texas Wendish Heritage Society welcome guests for self-guided visits, group tours, and the annual Wendish Fest each September.
