Bayernhof Music Museum

Bayernhof Music Museum is a one-of-a-kind German-style mansion museum in O’Hara Township overlooking the Allegheny River near Pittsburgh. Built as the private home of Charles B. Brown III and opened to the public as a museum in 2004, the roughly 19,000-square-foot residence is filled with secret passages, dramatic river views, and a world-class collection of antique automatic music machines.Guided tours are by appointment only and introduce visitors to music boxes, orchestrions, reproducing pianos, and other rare instruments alongside the eccentric architecture of the house itself. Bayernhof is open daily except major holidays, with a modest admission fee and a limit of twelve guests per tour.
