August Schell Brewing Company is Minnesota’s oldest brewery, founded in 1860 by German immigrant August Schell in New Ulm. The historic grounds include the working brewery, Bierhalle taproom, seasonal Biergarten, and gift shop, continuing a German-American brewing tradition that has defined the Minnesota River Valley for generations.Visitors can sample Schell’s Deer Brand and other house beers at the Bierhalle, tour the grounds, and experience one of the longest continuously operating family breweries in the United States at 1860 Schell Road.
