Alpen Haus is a Southern German restaurant and bierhalle in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana, opened in 2026 by Tatjana Hess and Alec Emmons. The kitchen draws on Hess family recipes from Waiblingen and the Stuttgart–Munich traditions—Schweinshaxe, schnitzel, Spätzle, Obazda, and a rotating Wurstplatte—paired with more than a dozen German and craft biers on draft.Under the same roof, The Golf Lodge offers Trackman golf simulators and cocktails, making the Washington Street spot both a Wirtshaus and an evening venue.
