Founded in 1856, Germania Verein is San Jose’s historic German-American social club, based at Germania Hall on North 2nd Street. The volunteer membership keeps German language, music, and customs alive through choir rehearsals, Kaffeeklatsch gatherings, Stammtisch conversation practice, seasonal festivals such as the Apple Harvest Festival, and community banquets at the club’s own hall.
