The Rheinischer Verein of Milwaukee awakens Karneval season with Hoppeditz Erwachung on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Kegel’s Inn, 5901 W. National Avenue in West Allis, Wisconsin. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar. Hoppeditz Erwachen (the waking of Hoppeditz) traditionally opens the Rhineland carnival season on November 11; the Verein follows with its Prinzenkrönung three days later.
