Die Biere Deutschlands German Beer Tasting is a 2-hour guided beer tasting that showcases some of the legendary beer styles of Germany presented in the authentic biergarten setting of Lagerhaus No. 5 in Eastern Market. Lagerhaus No. 5 not only sells and serves an eclectic variety of classic European beers, but they are one of the premier German-style brewers in Michigan. As with every Michigan Brew Tours tasting, you’ll be guided by a Certified Cicerone®, a recognized expert in the field of beer, who will:
- Give a general overview of German beer styles.
- Provide and explain beer tasting sheets.
- Illustrate the brewing process.
- Demonstrate to guests the proper process for tasting beer.
- Explain the history and significance of each particular style as it’s sampled.
As your guide takes you through each beer sample, you’ll do more than just drink beer: you’ll learn about the history of each style, its ingredients, and its brewing process while you experience some of the best beer Michigan has to offer. A flight of beer samples from around Germany, a pretzel & beer cheese appetizer, beer ingredient samples, a pint of your choice at the tasting’s conclusion, and some Michigan Brew Tours swag are all included!
