Carstens’ Bakery is a downtown Idaho Falls bakery founded in 1968 by German master baker Willi Carstens, who trained in northern Germany before immigrating to the United States. For more than five decades the family shop has been known for scratch-made donuts, breads, pastries, and old-world baking techniques brought from Nordfriesland.Today the bakery continues under grandson Ben Borsik at 243 Cliff Street, keeping Willi’s recipes and community tradition alive. Locals still stop in for glazed donuts, bagels, and classic bakery favorites in the compact downtown storefront.
