Wimberger’s Old World Bakery & Deli has served Colorado Springs since 1970, when German baker Robert Wimberger and his wife Gisela opened a wholesale bakery so they could bake proper German rye. The retail shop and delicatessen at 2321 Bott Avenue have been family-run for more than five decades, now continued by their son Randy and daughter-in-law Ulrike.Daily baking covers rye breads, Kaiser rolls, soft pretzels, streusel, Berliners, and other European specialties made from scratch without preservatives. The deli stocks imported meats, cheeses, and groceries that are hard to find elsewhere in El Paso County.
