Sparta’s traditional Kriskindlmarkt fills downtown Mueller Square and Main Street with wooden vendor huts, German-inspired holiday treats, and small-town Gemütlichkeit. The 2026 season runs Fridays and Saturdays from Thanksgiving through the weekend before Christmas: November 27–28, December 4–5, December 11–12, and December 18–19. Typical hours are Fridays 4:00–8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Free outdoor shopping and dining along the La Crosse River walkway.
