Ronneburg Restaurant is a German-American dining landmark in the historic Amana Colonies of Iowa. Named for the medieval Ronneburg fortress in Hesse that once sheltered Amana ancestors, the building served for years as a communal colony kitchen before opening as a restaurant in 1950.Guests come for family-style meals with German classics such as schnitzel and sauerbraten, plus breakfast, sandwiches, and desserts. A lounge pours local Millstream and German beers on tap alongside Amana fruit wines, and a private upstairs Beer Garden room is available for groups and celebrations.
