The Denver Kickers Sport Club was founded in 1962 and began with events at the Denver Turnverein (German Haus). In 1968 members acquired a clubhouse in Golden, and in 1976 they built a new clubhouse on land obtained from the Adolph Coors Brewing Company. Today the club sits on eight acres with a European-size championship soccer field, more than 400 members, adult and youth soccer programs, and the Schuhplattlers Bavarian dance group. The clubhouse hosts dances and heritage events including a Maypole Dance, a Bavarian-style Oktoberfest, and a Christkindl Market.
