The German-American Cultural Center & Museum in Gretna, Louisiana tells the story of German settlement in the New Orleans area beginning in 1721. Free museum exhibits cover local German families, landmarks, and West Bank history, with a research room for genealogy. Friends of the GACC host monthly programs and community events such as Maifest and Oktoberfest beer gardens at the center on Huey P. Long Avenue.
